Congratulations on your engagement. Your decision to enter into the relationship of married life is a sign of love, hope and strength for the entire community.
Due to the volume of wedding requests and the large number of parishioners, weddings are celebrated for registered parishioners only. Either the bride or groom must be a registered, participating member of Holy Name Cathedral.
If you are not currently a registered member, but you attend Mass at HNC on most weekends, and if you intend to be an active, contributing member of our parish community, you are welcome to register at 730 N. Wabash on Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
After four months of participation at the Cathedral, you will be eligible to reserve a wedding date for the celebration of your marriage.
PREPARATION: A minimum of six (6) months advanced planning and preparation prior to the wedding date is required.
TIMES FOR WEDDINGS:
Friday: 2:30 and 4:00 pm
Saturday: 11:00 am, 1:30 pm , 3:30 pm
Saturday: 6:30 pm – Liturgy Outside Mass
No weddings are celebrated on Sunday
Thursday: 6:00, 6:30 or 7:00 pm
Friday: 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, and 7:30
All music is planned in consultation with the Cathedral Music Department. The Cathedral Musicians will play all Cathedral weddings.
If a priest or deacon from outside the Archdiocese of Chicago is to officiate or concelebrate at your wedding, it is Archdiocesan policy for him to provide a “Letter of Good Standing” from his bishop or religious superior. That letter must be sent to the Archdiocese of Chicago no later than two weeks prior to the wedding date. The letter should be mailed to the Archbishop’s Delegate for Extern and International Priests at the Quigley Pastoral Center, 835 North Rush, Chicago, Illinois, 60611.
If a priest or deacon is an Archdiocesan priest/deacon it is required that he complete preparation. A priest or deacon from HNC will complete the paper work for a priest or deacon outside of Archdiocese of Chicago.
If you are a parishioner, please email Michelle M. Peltier Director of Liturgical Services and Special Events at email@example.com
